Yes it's calling...when this place starts to feel small, the road calls.
You know that scene in Wind in the Willows when Ratty and Mole are travelling back to the River Bank, back to Ratty's home? It's Christmas time and through the windows you can see the little lights on fir trees -- and other glimmers of gathering and feasting.
Mole is walking and suddenly smells home. A sharp pang of yearning to return to his long lost humble abode. But the wind is strong, and he can't shout loudly enough for Ratty to hear him. He has to tear himself away and keep on walking...
The road calls like that sometimes too though. Where have you been? Have you forgotten me? When did you last trace a line with your footprints, instead of travelling in interminable circles? Come, let's dance for a while. Let's peek through the windows at the lights and then keep on going, delighting in the stars and being awake when the dew falls.
A frosty road is calling....
